Camouflage and bot behavior
Chameleons lets players choose between hiding and seeking. Players either hide on a colored field or search for characters that have not blended into their surroundings.
Visibility checks
A downward raycast identifies the patch under a character. Matching the surface color hides the character, while a mismatch leaves it exposed. A short delay on a new patch changes the character’s color. The field colors can also change when the seeker stops.
Detection checks whether a target is visible, how far away it is, and whether it lies in the viewing direction. A sector in front of the seeker shows its field of view. The view radius grows as characters are caught.
Bots and rounds
Bots in both roles navigate with NavMesh and switch behavior states. A countdown starts the round timer. The game tracks captured characters and checks the win condition for the chosen role. Level progression is saved locally.
